10. PRANA ALCHEMY
To some of the working class peeps (yours truly included), a morning caffeine fix is much needed to kick start our day. If you are one of those, I guess I’m preaching to the choir. A cup of strong black coffee such as an Americano or Long Black, is just the perfect concoction of java needed. And that’s just what is served at the Prana Alchemy.
Prana is the Sanskrit word for life force. Pretty suiting since that is what coffee is to some of us. The best part is, it’s not just any coffee. They serve Turkish coffee, which is known for the bitter strong acidic flavour. The best kick to shake one’s self to life.

The streets of Jalan Telawi of Bangsar is famous for its restaurants and bars. Yet, hidden amongst them, is a little cafe that serves amazing desserts.
This little establishment sells cupcakes with visual arts that just entices the gustation senses. The cupcakes and other sweet delights are beautifully decorated with equally match the cleverly mixed of luscious flavours.

Curee opened its doors to the public in September. If you’re a fan of Japanese dishes, you would definitely enjoy treating yourself, or your special someone. Curee is famous for serving Hokkaido style soups, which has an exquisite taste. Aside from that, their Japanese curry dishes would also be good choices for those love sweet and spicy dishes.
Why you should bring a special someone here, is due to the simple and cozy indoor and outdoor setting, which creates an ambience of intimacy within your own space. Plus, being a gentlemen here would not hurt wallet as the prices are very much affordable for a table for two.

7. F.R COPPER
Looking for a place for lunch or dinner during the weekdays can be a bit of an peeve, for those working in condensed, busy areas. However, you’re in the TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) area, you should head to F.R COPPER.
F.R COPPER has a wide array of Western choices, from pasta dishes to the classic favourite, Fish & Chips. Also, after having a fulfilling meal, you should definitely try the desserts, as cakes served here are homemade.
Although parking would be an issue in the area of Jalan Aminuddin Baki, carpooling with your colleagues would solve that problem.

Chin Ren Yi, the man behind the success of myBurgerLab, has opened a new restaurant that serves pizzas, with a twist, known as myPizzaLab. The pizzas here are like nothing other, as Ren Yi continues to his philosophy of “making food interesting” therefore creating a new flavours of pizza by mixing the cheese and being creative with the toppings.
Although myPizzaLab is still developing its own identity as a brand that stands apart from its predecessor, owner Ren Yi believes that by enjoying what they do and serve foods that will make people happy, myPizzaLab will become a stand alone brand.

The brains behind the trendy, Instagram-worthy Pop Up Dining KL back in 2015, Daniel Yap and Miki Lie have opened up their own restaurant, located in Section 19, Petaling Jaya. Daniel Yap who is the head chef, decides to with an Italian inspired menu but with a local twist.
Diners would not realise that food served are created with local produce. Due to the excellent presentation, you would never realise the ingredients were made from our own home ground.

4. LUCKY TORA
The translation of the Japanese word “Tora”, means “Tiger”. With a name like Lucky Tiger, in addition to being located near the famous clubbing strip, Changkat Bukit Bintang, you would think the Lucky Tora would be a pub. However, that would a far away conclusion as it is a fancy restaurant, that specializes in Japanese cuisines.
Lucky Tora serves a variety of Japanese meals such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, udon and soba dishes, which would make Japanese food lovers feel very much at home. Despite being a restaurant in a party area, the choice of location actually bring benefits as those heading for the clubs, would choose to have a meal here, before heading off to party.

3. CHEZ GASTON
With the hustle and bustle of Bangsar due to the heavy human traffic, rushing to fancy restaurants and watering holes on the streets Telawi, many would be surprised to find a quiet French Le Bistrot, among the shoplots of Bangsar Utama.
Run by former Rendez-Vous owner, Florian Nigen, Chez Gaston offers French cuisine made simple. You would probably think the price would hurt your wallet but, due to the location that is a distance away from the famous Telawi, the price per dish is very much affordable for the average person.
The setting of the restaurant is very much French hence creating a romantic ambience, perfect for a first date.

2. THE MAJAPAHIT
If you’re looking for a place that offers a mixture of Southeast Asian dishes, The Majapahit in Mont Kiara provides the satisfaction. The variety of dishes are created by an Indonesian chef who has 25 years of experience in preparing Southeast Asian cuisines.
The setting is very welcoming due to the cozy and sumptuous. Also the space is massive enough to hold special events such as company dinners, family gatherings, birthdays and anniversaries.
In addition to that, The Majapahit becomes a bash, serving fancy cocktails with a live band in the background which makes it a great for chill out session with friends.

1. MALAI THAI
The region of Southeast Asia is filled with exotic dishes that has been passed down through generations and maintained its authenticity. Thai food is a prime example of how tradition flows delicately into the present.
You can find such authenticity at Malai Thai, located in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur City Center. As you enter, you will notice how the ambience is very warm and relaxing as decor is Thai inspired. Plus, the dishes are served on banana leaves and Thai tableware that was imported from Thailand.
When it comes to the dishes, the food is cooked with authentic Thai ingredients such as lemongrass and coriander, prepared by experienced chef, presented beautifully with malai flowers.
