Foodie Fives: Korean Chicken Spots in Klang Valley

3 minutes read

Korean fried chicken IS so irresistible and addictive. Not just because we’ve been obsessed with Korean dishes, this flavour-coated chicken… walks-the-talk.

Glazed in a sweet, tangy or spicy sauce, this crispy and crunchy chicken is HANDS DOWN the best thing Koreans invented and shared with us!

Here are five restaurants we’d go over and knock on the window for some Korean fried chicken.

KFry Urban Korean

KFry Urban Korean was the first restaurant we had our good bites on Korean fried chicken a few years back… Alexa, play Memories by Maroon 5. This eatery was also known for its unbelievable queue when it first opened its door to us “kiasu” Malaysians.

Priced at RM56.90, the K’Razy Spicy Cheesy Fried Chicken Bumbuk is a boneless fried chicken dipped in spicy Yangnyeom sauce served with Mozzarella cheese and cheese sauce. If you’ve ever crossed with your friends’ IG stories, yes this is the dish whereby servers mix and roll up each chicken with hot melted Mozzarella cheese in a platter.

At KFry, you can also try out the Nyangpa Blossom priced at RM15.90! The deep-fried blooming onion served with white truffle oil cream and KFry special sauce is a definite delish wholesome side!

Chicken Plus

Chicken Plus, by far, brings more taste to Korean fried chicken with not just three, not five but 10 flavours! We’re talking from Hot Shocking, Creamy Onion, Yang-nyeum, Sweet Garlic to Mala. BUT the absolute must-try are Crazy Spicy Chicken and Snowing Cheese flavours.

The boneless Snowing Cheese chicken priced from RM17, is insane. Smothered with LOTS of cheese powder, we were “frosted”. The boneless Crazy Spicy Chicken lives up to its name. We love spicy food and this, pals, is CRAZILY SPICY. We dare ya.

Nanda Chicken

11, Jalan Solaris 2, Solaris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. Business hours: 12pm to 11:30pm, daily.

If you’re up for cheese-cheese (read: cheesier than it is), Nanda Chicken is the place. Satiate your craving with the Boneless Snow Cheese chicken priced at RM59. Its fondue-styled snow cheese chicken is fit for a king!

The sauces range from original to soy sauce to hot soy sauce! You can also opt for various side dishes such as Ojingeo Fried which is a fried whole squid, Ddongzib Fried, a fried chicken gizzard or Grilled Dried Pollack.

P/S: Don’t forget to “boomerang” your cheesy pull!

Dokebi Chicken

D3-03-08 Tamarind Square, Persiaran Multimedia, Cyber 11, Cyberjaya, Selangor. Business hours: 11am to 11pm, daily.

Spicy Yang Nyeom Sauce priced at RM51.80 is a crispy boneless chicken covered with savoury, sweet and spicy Korean sauce, topped with cheese. The spiciness of the chicken was subtle but hey, our taste buds are diff.

At Dokebi, we recomm’ you to try the Dokebi Signature drinks featuring two Dokebi Lagoon and Dokebi Strawberry served with fluffy bright cotton candy for RM18.90 each. One word, SW-EEET twist.

Looking for a place to chill, Dokebi it is… With an indoor and outdoor dining area, you can comfortably dine and hang with your family and friends.

4Fingers Crispy Chicken

LG2.127, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, No. 3, Jalan PJS 11/15, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Business hours: 10am to 10pm, daily.

We’re not doing Korean fried chicken any justice if we didn’t include 4Fingers in our list!

Stepping into the New York subway scene, 4Fingers serves up to three amazeball-flavours: Soy Garlic, Hot and Mixed priced from RM20.90. Upon ordering, these “beautiful babes” are hand-brushed onto each and every piece of them.

The restaurant also experiments its fried chicken with many sensational flavours such as Firecracker chicken, Gangnam chicken and its latest… Tom Yum Pop!

By now, you would’ve noticed that we couldn’t get Korean fried chicken out of our heads… Try them out and let us know what you think. In chicken, we trust!
