This Sandwich Place Is Taking KL By Storm

Malaysia is a big market for anything in between two buns, hence why our burger craze has tempted local startups to compete with large fast food chains. With the success of stores like KGB, many have tried to serve Malaysians alternative options for burgers. However, the same cannot be said about its cousin, the sandwich – until the Sandwich Hub came along.

The Sandwich Hub nestles quietly on the busy Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad, in between two famous banana leaf restaurants. Quiet doesn’t equate to shyness, because the store welcomes dozens of visitors everyday as they serve the finest sandwiches around the area.

What I like about the Hub is the variety of sandwiches they offer – and how localized their menu is. Their Maharaja sandwich, is technically balancedly marinated and tender tandoori chicken in a ciabatta, while the Kopitiam, is the Hub’s take on chicken char siew with sprinkled spring onions.

My personal favourite is the Indian Ocean: fresh poached prawns, with curried cocktail sauce and toasted ciabatta. The first bite of prawns, the curry sauce and soft but crunchy ciabatta is a beautiful marriage and flavours that you may not get at other sandwich places due to the size of the bread.

Their prices of their sandwiches start at an affordable RM10.90 with the Seafarer, The Cheesy Cheese and their vegetarian option, the Gardener.
